Why Juice?

There's a lot of attention surrounding juicing, but what are the actual benefits of drinking fruits and vegetables? Although juice can’t replace fruits and vegetables altogether, juicing can improve your diet in plenty of ways. Here are just a few reasons to juice.

Preserves More Nutrients

Green juice contains higher amounts of polyphenols, flavonoids, and protease enzymes than a green smoothie with the same ingredients. This is because plant cell walls are thoroughly crushed by the juicer’s screw, releasing their nutrient-filled liquid.

Additionally, air generated by the average blender oxidizes and destroys beneficial enzymes like protease. Kuvings slow juicers do not generate air that destroys enzymes.

Increases Your Intake

When you eat raw produce, there is a limitation to how much you can consume at once. For example, if you tried eating a pound of kale by itself, the insoluble fiber would fill your stomach quickly. It also wouldn’t taste very good! Juicing ingredients can be a much more efficient way to ingest ingredients that are otherwise difficult to consume.

“My daughter has to eat half a pound of salad in order to get those benefits. I know she's not going to do it, and it takes time. I can juice it easily, and everything that I need is there.” - Inessa P.

Diversifies Your Diet

When was the last time you enjoyed a serving of raw beets? How about raw turmeric or ginger? Wheatgrass? There are so many nutrient-rich foods and superfoods that are difficult to ingest in their whole form. Juicing these ingredients allows for an easier and more palatable way to get their benefits. Even those who find it difficult to stomach a simple salad can benefit from getting their vegetables in juice form.

“So far, this has been life-changing. I am eating vegetables that I never did and you don’t waste a thing.” - Juan A.

Speeds Up Absorption

When raw fruit and vegetables are consumed in liquid form, your body can absorb their nutrients easier and faster than whole ingredients. This is because there are no solids to interfere with absorption. (If sugar is a point of concern in your diet, opt for juicing ingredients that are low in sugar.

Because juice is so easy for your body to absorb, it can be converted into energy immediately. If you’re on the go or need a pick-me-up, juicing is a much healthier alternative to caffeine.

Kid-Friendly

For picky eaters, there’s nothing scarier than the taste and texture of vegetables. By juicing vegetables with fruit, kids can enjoy sweet, silky-smooth juice and still get the nutrients they need.

Additive-Free

You know exactly what you’re putting into your body when you drink homemade juice. There are no artificial colors, preservatives, sugar, or corn syrup added—unlike store-bought juice.

Tastes Great

Last, but certainly not least, a perfectly valid reason to start juicing is that it tastes great! There really is nothing like the refreshing taste of pure juice from freshly-squeezed ingredients.
